The Homes of Gladys and Frank

These four pictures are from actual Christmas cards sent out by Gladys and Frank in the 1940s-50s. Cards acquired throught the courtesy of the Ulysses Grant-Smith Collection.

Gladys and Frank owned an old farmhouse in Connecticut named Huckleberry Hill. My research indicates that they bought the home in the early 1940's. They sold it in 1954 and bought a villa in Italy.

To the Right is a picture of Gladys at the well of the house.

The photo to the right was the basic one used in the Pabst Beer ads. I believe this is the apartment in New York City off of Central Park. When in the city, Gladys would walk around the park a couple of times each day.
Gladys and Frank had a number of apartments in New York City. One year they even stayed at the Savoy Hotel for the season. They would travel between their villa in Italy and New York leaving the city in the spring and returning in the fall..
