County to execute the affidavits, one residing in Yates, one in Seneca & one in Steuben = Arad Joy

State of New York, County of Yates  Personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for said County Anthony Swarthout a Revolutionary Soldier & Pensioner and being duly sworn according to law deposeth and saith that he is brother to Ralph Swarthout whose name is subscribed to the foregoing application & affidavit that this deponent is upwards of eighty years of age, being an older brother will recollects when the said Ralph Swarthout was a child, that this deponent served in the war of the Revolution and that he can bear witness to the two months and the one month service performed as teamster by the said Ralph Swarthout at the times and places set forth by him in the war of the Revolution & indepence of his country; that this deponent is also a witness to the said Ralph Swarthout enlisting and serving in the nine months service as set forth by him, and that the said Ralph Swarthout did service in the war of the Revolution to the amount of one year and upwards as stated by him, and that the said Ralph Swarthout who is here applying for a pension and whose name is affixed to the said application and affidavit is the identical person, the identical soldier who served under his name in the war of the Revolution as set forth by him in the foregoing affidavit- Subscribed and Swam before me this 7th day of January 1840

 State of New York County of Yates - Personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for said County Elizabeth Swarthout and being duly sworn according to law deposeth and sith that she is eighty eight years of age, that she has always been acquainted with Ralph Swarthout Since a child whose name is subscribed to the foregoing application for a pension and affidavit, and that he is the identical Ralph Swarthout who served in the war of the Revolution under his name and as set forth by him, that this deponent being at the time of the Revolution in the same neighborhood with the said Ralph Swarthout bears witness to the said Ralph Swarthout's Service in the said war of the Revolution as stated by him, to wit, that the said Ralph Swarthout served as teamster three months at the date and time & place named by him & that this deponent will recollects of the said Ralph Swarthout enlisting and serving in the nine month service as stated by him in the said war of the Revolution, and that the said Ralph Swarthout did serve in all in the said war of the Revolution upwards of one year agreeable to his statements
